A large consumer package goods supplier faced continued out of stocks in major supply categories, which had a negative impact on sales revenue. They faced a lot of pressure from retailers to rectify the issue; however, they had no visibility to the root cause, and consequently, could not come up with a plan to rectify the issue.
Solution
To start with, RetailGIS© applied proprietary SmartProject© Predictive & Instore Technology to identify the root cause of the problem. After that, we implemented an audit-and-fix program in 3000 retail locations weekly. Our technology implementation helped develop actionable analytics to target the out-of-stock issue in the long term.
Result
We brought a decrease of 33.6% in shelf out-of-stocks and increased sales by 8.2%. Our customized analytics applications increase on-shelf availability. We also implemented a weekly on-shelf availability program within multiple retailers.
